Action (Batch Resize for Web) Freebie

Hey friends! I just wanted to quickly share a free action with you. Someone over at DigiScrapAddicts requested an action be made so I made it for her and thought I'd share it with you. This action will take a folder of pictures and resize them (portrait, landscape or square) for web use. This will be a great action for those blog and facebook photos as well as scrapbook pages for web galleries.

Cropping a Two Page Layout for Gallery Posting or Printing

This is a really quick and easy tutorial for you but I thought I'd cover it since I enjoy creating two page spreads and alot of my templates will be two pagers. I had been scrapping quite a while before I learned this little technique and it sure would have saved me ALOT of time if I had know about it before. So here it is.

1) With your two page spread open go ahead and duplicate your document:

Image --> Duplicate (In Elements you will go to File-->Duplicate). I do this just in case something would go terribly wrong ;)

2)Choose Image --> Canvas Size : Change the width to 1/2 of the original size. (So if you have as 16" spread you will change it to 8".) Click on the LEFT anchor point as shown below.

3) Choose ok and save your page as a .jpg

4) In your History pallete step all the way back so that your page is once again its original size. Choose Image -->Canvas Size and enter the same dimensions but this time click on the right anchor point.

I know you all have alot going on so I won't keep you but I wanted to share a freebie, a template challenge and a sale with you! Camie Designs is participating in the design contest over at ScrapMatters.com We are in the 2nd round (yay...we made it through the first) and this week all the contestants made a paperpack. The good news for you is that if you sign up at ScrapMatters you can download all the paper packs. There are some gorgeous papers that you are going to love! AND I think you have until Monday to download the 1st round mini kits. There are something like 90!! So, how's that for a freebie? Winter Frost

We have a new kit out called "Winter Frost" which is a combination of some fun Christmas elements with a whole bunch of wintry elements in the mix. I love this kit because of the vibrant colors and all the glitz and glam. Take a close look at the gingerbread house and you'll see a whole lot of sparkle on all the gum drops! Here are some LO's that some ladies over at DST did for me.

December is speeding past and I just can't stay caught up with my to-do list. I did manage a little time though to get this freebie uploaded. Here is a two page quickpage for you - I hope you enjoy it! I always have a ton of pictures from Christmas so I like having collage-type pages for my Christmas albums so that I can showcase alot of photos at once. Just click on the image and it will take you to the download site. If you've got a moment leave us a comment...we'd love to hear from you!

Here are directions to easily split the page:

1) Image --> Canvas Size
2)Width: cut the page width in 1/2 so if it is a 24" spread you'll cut it down to 12"
3)Click on the left facing arrow so that all the arrows move over
4) Click "OK"
5) Click "Proceed" when you get the canvas clipping message
6) Save your file as a .jpg to prepare for printing
7) In your undo history click beside the thumbnail of the LO which will take you all the way back to when you opened the file
8) Begin at step one again but this time click on the right facing arrow

Monday Madness

What a crazy busy weekend but despite it all I actually got some designing done. My partner in crime, well designing, whipped out some more amazing designs - this time for Christmas and I'm so excited to get them into a full kit! I'll be working on that this week and maybe I'll get you a little sneak peak before then :) I'm currently looking for a store but don't worry - we'll have regular freebies for you even after we set up shop.
